Haiku Monday: Adventure

My thoughts are straying from food. With thanks to everyone who has asked after Scout, I am sorry to report he has not returned and at this point I am about out of hope. I dedicate this post to my buddy of 14 years. Moi at Bite the Apple is hosting Haiku Monday this week. Click on over to read a plethora of much more poetic and upbeat entries.

Uncontained Adventurer

Silence here deafens.
Strut your stuff on heavenly
walkabout, my friend.

Oh dear, Eggy, I'm so, so sorry. The risk we take when we give our beloved animal buddies the freedom to be themselves is that one day they might not return to hearth and home. My heart breaks for you. You gave him a wonderful life and a lovely haiku tribute. Take care of yourself.

Oh.Oh. :-( Beautiful Haiku. Not knowing is the worst. I'm so very sorry. They are just too fragile and even living to 14 doesn't seem long enough.

I'm so, so sorry, eggy. He's such a pretty kitty. It's hard to loose a pet.

A beautiful Haiku for a beautiful kitty.

I saw a little guy resembling Scout this morning in Clifton and got hopeful and excited, but then I figured Clifton would have been a very long way to travel for him.

Really hoping he returns to you!

Nooooo! I thought Scout just went for a walkabout. I'm so sorry, dear Eggy. I had an outdoor kitty when I lived in Sydney and I still think it's better for them to be out and about like they were meant to be, dangers and all. He lived well and long (and might still be) I know you miss him. Hugs and licks. xoxox

PS: your lobsta post was amazing.

Any sign of Scout yet?

My cousin's 18-year-old cat strolled away one day and came back a few weeks later, feistier than ever. He just needed some adventure.
