10 days, 3074 miles, and 427 photos

No, I didn't do all that traveling just to eat. I am, alas, home from a spectacular trip to South Dakota and intend to hijack my own food blog for a travel post or three. Until I can cull through those photos, here's a taste.

Thanks to those of you who wondered or worried about me. Unplugging can be a good thing. A very good thing indeed.

Eggy! Look at you! that first photo should be the cover of a magazine. It sure looks good. WHo thinks "say, lets take a trip to south dakota?!". But its lovely. And you got a tatanka! He's looking right at you,,,you crept up real show like and got it. The rock outcropping in the water is amazing. I cant wait for the rest of the report. Welcome home!

I always thought the devil's tower was in Wyoming - or is this a different one. I'm with Chicky on the first pic. I want to hear more about it. And I hope you got to taste some of that buffalo.

Chick9, thanks for the high praise from an artist and photographer of your caliber. More photos and explanations about "WHo thinks "say, lets take a trip to south dakota?!" to come.

GG, so glad to have a kindred spirit of the mountain and red rock appreciating kind!

Buzz, you're right that Devil's Tower (alternatively referred to/translated as "Bear Lodge" by Native Americans, Chicky) is in Wyoming. I "buzzed" across the border my last day in the far west part of the SD to fulfill a 41-year-old wish.

I'm pretty close to having a second road trip ready to post, but have to pack it in for the night. Please stay tuned.

Glad you're home safe and sound and with many photos in hand.

Love, love, LOVE South Dakota. Our last trip was to climb the Needles in Custer State Park and Devil's Tower and all your photos are as familiar to me as if I were there yesterday. Spectacular place. Food? Not so much. Again, I'm hoping you found some so you can set me right for my next trip :o).

Egg and fish? Hmmmmmm, whatever it is, sho looks good. When I see photos of places like this, it just makes me imagine the clean air and what the smells are, hiking and the peace of being in nature. Well done. (I'd be scared of that big ol' tatanka buffalo, I watch too many nature shows! haha!) So glad you had a good time, girl.
