POSITIVELY MONDAY

Hmmm. I’ve noticed a bit of a downturn in the outlook of some of my fellow/sister bloggers recently. Concern about the BP oil spill, worry about sick chicks and aging parents, aggravation brought on by computer or kitchen woes – all understandably leaving one glum. For some, this takes the form of an unspecified malaise. For others, a sense of burn-out. For a few, some downright cranky-pants blogging (which can be a delight when it’s laced with humor; otherwise, not so much). [Thanks to the friend I snagged the above image from - it made my day!]

Alas, after an uninspired weekend catching up on sleep and eating leftovers, I almost let today go by without posting. But the whole point of my Positively Monday gig is to attempt to lift my attitude up by the boot straps (er, sandal straps?). After catching up with a friend who just returned from a beach vacation (the planets did not align for me to go with), I have something to look forward to.
From Ohio, which, yes, boasts a giant picnic-basket-shaped building, I am pleased that Team Eggplant will be reuniting for Culinary Smackdown: Picnic. Plans are being made, menu ideas and shopping lists exchanged. Georgia peaches may be involved . . . And I think we’re gonna need a new sign.

I'll be(hopefully!) some of your competition!

Lazaro, yes, that building is indeed real - home of the Longaberger basket company. You just can't make up stuff like that :)

BD, cool - the more the merrier!

Haha! How funny! I love this post, Eggy, thank you it made me feel better already! It's so funny so many of us are feeling that way but hopefully, not for long!

I can't wait to see what Team Eggy comes up with! Cheers!

Dani and Diva, as long as we know we can laugh at ourselves, I think we'll get through whatever it is we have to get through, right? Thanks to both of you for bringing a smile to my face!

Woohoo! This made my Friday - sorry for the long delay on reading/commenting!

TEAM EGGY!!!!!!! Whoop and hollah!!! If I were in your neck of the woods I'd join you! I could be a sous chef and Head Ant Bouncer.

Go Team Eggplant. Oh, wait, I'm going to be the Challenge too. I love that picture of the picnic basket and once watched an entire show on that company and the people who make the baskets. Pretty ding dang cool.

Awesome! I will be cheering for team eggplant :-) Is that building seriously in the shape of a picnic basket or is that just photo shopped to humor me that way?

Have a great weekend.
