And that pie was fantabulous!

Chicky, you weren’t alone in your distaste for eggplant, but glad I managed to throw in a dish that would appeal to you! Your blackberry syrup sounds divine!

Moi, glad you liked the gratin!

Buzz, Cindie and I have been cooking together long enough that we’ve gotten pretty good at managing stay out of each other’s way in the kitchen. Her dog, on the other hand, is another story :) We get caught up on all sorts of conversation while we’re cooking, which makes it more fun, I think, and we bounce ideas off each other. Lol, I’ll bet Boxer could create some twisted characters with those okra – if she weren’t busy with more pressing matters.

Buzz and Boxer, since there’s more than one cook, seems only fair we prepare more than one dish :)

Chicky, after years of doing summer fish fries, Odie’s gotten pretty good at avoiding fryer oil burns :)

Thanks to all! I'll be back either late tonight or tomorrow evening with a recap announcing the winner.Sharon Ruddhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00598263732896925616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316997354640264566.post-68858073994155735982011-08-02T13:25:52.204-04:002011-08-02T13:25:52.204-04:00topless and deep frying? I don't think I could (and have never tried) to cook with someone else. The Mrs knows to get out of the kitchen when I'm making dinner. And the "topless" team cooking concept is intriguing as well. Bwahahaha

You do so much work for these challenges that I'm almost ashamed to post what I do. Your dishes all look great, especially the gratin dish. The fresh okra looks like railroad spikes. Now if you had just put some Mr Potato Head eyes on it... Very cool and very nice post.Buzz Killhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01443964019621130222noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316997354640264566.post-16615266238717454202011-08-02T09:14:12.425-04:002011-08-02T09:14:12.425-04:00Anything deep fried and I am so there. I'll just tell the hubs they're potatoes.

I love cooking with a crowd, and you all seem to work really well together. Now fried okra, I like. I love that shot of Odie - i know that look. I agree that frying outside if you can, is the way to go. I love to make onion rings but I too hate the mess and smell of frying. Okra is good too. Im with cindie i dont like the seediness of blackberries. (which Koby loves...she will eat blackberries off the bush!) I make syrup from blackberries by cooking them down and straining them. Use that on a homemade biscuit with butter and youve got something.

Well, im off to read the other entries even though this is the least interesting challenge to me - i wont be trying any of the recipes.

Good luck to team eggplant!chickoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11814762747054617499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4316997354640264566.post-84432954622209387692011-08-02T08:39:44.235-04:002011-08-02T08:39:44.235-04:00Yum, yum, gimme some!!
